CES Principal's Message

Dear Cashman School Families and Caregivers,

Welcome to the Cashman School! It is an amazing learning environment of caring teachers, support staff, and office staff. It is an incredible honor to lead the Cashman School and its upper elementary population of curious, excited, and energetic learners!

The upper elementary years are important ones for students as they experience the shift from early elementary years of learning to read and begin to turn their attention to reading to learn across all areas of the curriculum. This important academic shift requires a strategic, scaffolded skill shift for students academically and socially-emotionally that is fully supported by our dedicated team of professionals.

As students in grades 3-5 also begin to experience their growing independence, they are also learning how to navigate social relationships and their academic lives more independently. It is an exciting time for students as they develop the academic and social emotional foundational skills needed to be successful!

Additionally, through co-curricular offerings, PTO enrichment opportunities and community involvement, students have opportunities to be involved in their school community in a myriad of ways.  The Cashman School community strives to foster meaningful relationships with students and their families by inviting parent involvement as well as student and parent feedback.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or insights to share. Your partnership is invaluable and welcomed!

Thank you and with kindest regards,
Dr. Amy Mitchell
Principal
